Edward Villars

Edward Villars is founder of Capanis Networks and has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since its inception. He has led the implementation of the corporate vision and guided the development of the company's low-cost and highly profitable strategy.
Prior to his current endeavor, he co-founded INYC Wireless, the first New York based, Multi-tenant housing wireless broadband provider, serving over 4000 homes in Manhattan alone. He led the company with a total asset base of over 1million dollars, to a positive cash-flow position within a year. The company was later acquired by Nettera Communications, a privately held Service Provider company.
With GTE , Bell Atlantic and Verizon, Mr. Villars held a number of influential management and lead engineering positions with responsibilities across the entire United States footprint. His multi-million dollar business development initiatives span multiple Financial institutions, Content Providers and Broadband Service providers worldwide.
Some of his career accomplishments include designing end-to-end telecommunications systems for companies like Yahoo.com, NHK (Japan broadcasting Corporation), ABN-Amro Inc, Akamai Technologies, Digital island, World class Data Center providers like The Carlyle Group, CLEC's like Cypress Communications and Global Telecom carriers including Europe based Telia Corporation.
Mr. Villars's experiences summarize a technically in-depth understanding of Broadband Service Delivery Systems, Billing and OSS platforms and Network Architectures; He exhibits an outstanding track record in managing the critical relationships between various Technologies, Operational Costs and Profitability. Mr. Villars has a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Anna Maria College in Massachusetts.
